Le Havre

Le Havre is a city in the Haute-Normandie region in France. It is located in the north-west of France on the English Channel. The city was destroyed during World War II but rebuilt in modernist style by Auguste Perret after the war. Because the city was reconstructed in an unique way, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.

Saint Paul's CathedralThe Saint Paul's church was founded in the 1oth century, it was promoted to cathedral in the 19th century to replace the demolished Saint-Lambert Cathedral. The interior is decorated with beautiful frescoes on the ceiling, colourful stained glass and a marble sculpture of 'Christ in his grave' made by Delcour in 1696.
The treasury room of the cathedral contains many silver and gold items with a reliquary bust of Saint Lambert and the reliquary of Charles the Bold as highlights. The admission fee for the treasury room is 5 € for adults, 3 € for seniors and students.

The Aquarium Museum in Liège is divided into two parts: the Zoological Museum and the Aquarium. In the museum halls are over 20.000 preserved specimens from across the globe, ranging from the smallest insects to a 19 meter long whale.

The stairs were built in 1881 to allow soldiers on top of the hill to go down to the centre without having to walk through the dangerous alleys.
