MSC Seaview Ship Tour: Exploring Before the Crowds

We explored MSC Seaview at around 7 AM, while most passengers were still asleep. With the ship unusually quiet, we walked across eight decks, discovering its glass walkways, outdoor pools, family attractions and indoor entertainment areas.

One of our favourite discoveries wasn't a pool or an attraction, but a spot above the Bridge of Sighs that gave us a great view of the ship's stern, the glass bridge and the ocean beyond.

In this article, we'll show you what stood out during our walk, share a few practical tips and point out some features you might otherwise miss. You can also watch our complete MSC Seaview ship tour below to see the areas for yourself.

The Bridge of Sighs: A Glass Walkway Above the Ocean

The Bridge of Sighs is one of the features to look out for when exploring MSC Seaview. Its glass floor lets you walk across the transparent surface and look down, adding a different perspective to the usual views from a cruise ship's outdoor decks.

The view from the bridge itself is spectacular, but we discovered that the best photo opportunity is actually in the area above it. From there, you can photograph the aft of MSC Seaview, the Bridge of Sighs and the ocean beyond in one composition.

If you want a photograph that captures both the ship and the glass walkway, this is the spot I'd recommend looking for. It's a more complete view than simply taking a picture while standing on the bridge.

Our visit also showed why timing matters. We explored at around 7 AM, when the ship was still very quiet. With fewer passengers around, it was easier to stop, enjoy the views and take pictures without other people in the frame. If photography is important to you, an early-morning walk is well worth considering.

The Infinity Bridge: Another Glass-Floor Experience

The Bridge of Sighs isn't the only glass walkway on MSC Seaview. On Deck 8, we also walked across the Infinity Bridge, another feature that lets you look down through the glass beneath your feet.

We enjoyed the view from here, and it's worth including in your walk around the ship if you like unusual architectural features or want to take different photographs. Rather than just looking out over the ocean, you get that extra sensation of seeing the space below you as you cross the glass.

Both bridges are worth visiting, but don't assume they offer exactly the same photo opportunity. If you want to capture the aft of the ship together with the Bridge of Sighs, make sure you also look for the area above the bridge.

Panorama Pool on Deck 16: Great Views, but Expect Crowds

The Panorama Pool is one of the main outdoor attractions on MSC Seaview. Located on Deck 16, it combines swimming and sunbathing with wide views over the sea.

However, there's something important to know if you're hoping to spend a day relaxing on a sun lounger. The pool areas on Decks 7 and 16 can become very busy, and finding an empty lounger may be difficult if you arrive later in the day.

If having a particular spot beside the pool matters to you, I'd recommend heading up earlier rather than waiting until the pool is already busy. Our early-morning walk was a good opportunity to see the areas before the crowds arrived, although conditions will naturally vary depending on the day and sailing.

The upper decks are worth exploring even if you don't plan to swim. You can enjoy the sea views, discover the different outdoor areas and get a better feel for the ship before deciding where you'd like to spend your time.

The Sunset Beach Pool and the Reality of a Busy Cruise Ship

We also visited the Sunset Beach Pool area on Deck 7, towards the aft of the ship. This is another outdoor pool space, with views over the water and the back of MSC Seaview.

One thing that stood out during our early visit was the amount of work taking place before the day got going. Staff were busy cleaning and preparing the area for passengers. It gave us a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes to keep the ship's public spaces ready for another busy day.

The cleaning also affected our route. We couldn't continue directly towards the Garage Club from that side, so we had to adjust our plans and reach the entertainment areas by another route.

It's a small detail, but this is one of the advantages of sharing a real ship tour rather than relying only on promotional images. You get to see the ship as it was during our visit, including the practical details that don't always appear in official photographs.

Aquaventure Park: Waterslides and Activities for Children

If you're travelling with children or teenagers, the Aquaventure Park is an area worth finding. During our walk, we looked at the children's water-play facilities and waterslides, which offer something different from simply swimming in the main pools.

We also passed the ping-pong tables and the Jungle Pool Lounge. These areas add variety to the outdoor decks, giving passengers more options for spending time outside.

Above the Aquaventure Park, we followed the Adventure Trail, an elevated route that lets you explore the area from a different level. From here, you can look down towards the water attractions below.

We also visited the MSC Sport Field, another facility to look out for if you enjoy more active pursuits during a cruise.

These attractions are particularly useful to know about when travelling as a family. The main pool isn't the only place to spend time outdoors, and exploring the upper decks helps you discover activities you might otherwise miss.

MSC Seaview's Zip Line: My Daughter's Experience

One of the more unusual attractions aboard MSC Seaview is the zip line high up on the ship. My daughter tried it during our cruise and enjoyed the experience very much.

Finding it is relatively straightforward once you know where to look. Start at the Aquaventure pool area and take the stairs upwards, continuing all the way to the top. Along the way, look for the zip line signs to guide you in the right direction.

The zip line costs extra, so it's worth knowing about the onboard Fun Pass if you're interested in trying several of the ship's paid attractions.

MSC offers Fun Pass packages with prepaid credits for eligible entertainment, including the zip line, arcade games, bowling and Formula Racer. The Interactive XD Cinema is another attraction listed for MSC Seaview. The credit package can be shared among family members under the applicable terms, which may be useful if several people want to try different activities. Once the credits run out, additional charges apply. Check the current options and prices before buying, as the terms can change.

For families with teenagers, the zip line is worth considering. Our daughter enjoyed it, and it was a memorable part of our time on the ship. Just make sure to check the current operating times and safety requirements on board before heading up.

The Panoramic Lift: From Deck 7 to Deck 16

One of the features we included in our tour was the panoramic lift connecting Deck 7 and Deck 16.

Instead of travelling between decks in a completely enclosed lift, you can enjoy views as you move up towards the upper pool areas. It makes getting around part of the experience, particularly if you want to explore different levels of the ship without taking the stairs.

The lift is also useful when getting your bearings. MSC Seaview has public spaces spread across multiple decks, so familiarising yourself with the layout early in your cruise can save time later.

We included the ride in our video so you can see what it looks like rather than just reading about it.

The Haven Lounge: Not Our Favourite Lounge

Not every area of MSC Seaview impressed us equally. On Deck 7, we visited the Haven Lounge, but personally, we didn't find it as cosy or inviting as lounges we've experienced on other cruise ships.

That's a matter of personal preference rather than a criticism of the ship's facilities as a whole. Different passengers look for different things in a lounge, and what feels comfortable to one person may not have the same appeal to another.

Still, I think it's worth sharing an honest impression rather than describing every space as a highlight. The Haven Lounge is one of the areas we saw during our walk, but it wasn't one of the places that stood out most for us.

We visited the Haven Lounge during our walk, although we found it less cosy and inviting than lounges on some other cruise ships.

Deck 8: The Waterfront Boardwalk and Indoor Facilities

Deck 8 offers a mix of indoor facilities and outdoor spaces. During our walk, we passed Hola! Tacos & Cantina and the Sports Bar before continuing towards the Seaview Lounge and the MSC Spa area.

We also saw the hair salon, barber shop and gym, then made our way back towards the atrium past the fashion jewellery shops, MSC Future Cruise and the MSC Shop.

Rather than treating every shop and lounge as a separate attraction, it's more useful to know how these spaces fit into the wider layout. If you're planning your own cruise, this part of the ship is worth exploring so you can find the places that interest you.

We also explored the outdoor promenade on Deck 8, passing areas where passengers can enjoy the sea views and access nearby bars and restaurants.

The Infinity Bridge is another reason to explore this deck, especially if you enjoy the ship's glass-floor features.

The Atrium, Shops and Entertainment Areas

Our tour started on Deck 5, near the entrance, where we passed the Golden Sand Restaurant, Seaview Bar and MSC Photo area before moving up to Deck 6.

Here, we explored the public areas around the atrium, including the Mini Mall, Venchi chocolate bar, Piazza Grande and the surrounding shops. The atrium is a useful landmark when finding your way around the ship, as several public spaces and facilities are grouped around it.

On Deck 7, we passed the casino, Sunglasses and Watches shop, the Haven Lounge and the billiard room. Later, we explored the Garage Club, arcade and bowling area, including Formula Racer.

These facilities show that there's more to MSC Seaview than swimming pools and sunbathing. If the weather isn't ideal or you want something to do in the evening, the indoor entertainment areas provide alternatives.

Some attractions cost extra, so check the current prices on board before deciding which ones to try. If you're travelling with children or teenagers who want to use several paid attractions, it's worth comparing the available Fun Pass options with paying individually.

Is It Worth Exploring MSC Seaview Early in the Morning?

For us, starting our walk at around 7 AM made a real difference. With most passengers still asleep, we could explore at our own pace, take photographs and see the public areas before they became busy.

The best example was the area above the Bridge of Sighs, where we found our favourite spot for photographing the aft of the ship and the ocean together. The quieter atmosphere also made it easier to appreciate the glass walkways without other passengers constantly passing by.

There is one practical point to remember: staff may be cleaning or preparing facilities early in the morning, as we saw at the Sunset Beach Pool. Access to particular areas can therefore vary, and not every attraction will necessarily be operating at that time.

Even so, an early walk is a useful way to familiarise yourself with the ship before the day gets underway. You can discover where the pools, restaurants, entertainment areas and outdoor activities are located, then return to your favourite places later.
