The Scott Monument
Thursday, March 06, 2008The Scott Monument is dedicated to Sir Walter Scott, a Scottish writer. It's over 61 metres tall and stands on Princes Street. It has a viewing deck on the top that can be reached by a total of 287 steps. The fairground that you see close to the monument is there for the festive season, a nice extra when visiting Edinburgh around Christmas.
View location in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Had never seen the Britannia inside; interesting! But loved to remember the Edinburgh Castle and the Paris monuments and Gaudi Barcelona... Great shots!
Hello from New York! Very nice picture. I think in feet that is about 200 feet tall.
Yes Mike, that is about 200 feet tall.
Thanks for the great photos of Edinburgh! I think about going there all the time-- now there's more fuel for the fire!
