House of Christopher Columbus in Genoa

Christopher Columbus House in Genoa

It's believed that Genoa is the birthplace of famous explorer Christopher Columbus. Nobody knows if this was actually the house where Christopher Columbus lived, but it was in a house like this where he grew up. It's located close to Genoa's Porta Soprana and is open for visitors.

The only thing that is sure about Columbus is that he married a Portuguese and lived in Porto Santo, Madeira, Portugal... If he was Portuguese or Genoese is a subject of great discussion... ;)

The facade seems to have undergone many restorations. The photograph is really nice.
