La Petite France: Strasbourg's Most Beautiful Quarter
Sunday, December 26, 2010The most picturesque area of Strasbourg, La Petite France, is a real pleasure to discover. It is located on the Grande Île(Main Island), where the river Ill splits up into a number of canals. This famous quarter of Strasbourg was once occupied by fishermen, tanners and millers.
La Petite France is especially characterised by the beautiful half-timbered houses along the river and streets. This makes it the ideal place to stop at one of the many restaurants and cafes and enjoy the stunning views and great atmosphere.
