This beautiful Sand Sculpture Festival takes place every year during the summer months in the seaside town of Blankenberge.

The festival was built by 40 professional sand artists from around the world. Over 10000 tons of sand was used to create 150 sculptures. Every year a new theme is chosen, this year artists were inspired by fairy tales.

update: The Sand Sculpture Festival has now moved to the beach of Ostend.
