Ride a Steam Train to the Top of the Brienzer Rothorn

The Brienz Rothorn Bahn is located in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region. This cogwheel steam locomotive pushes the red wagons in about an hour to the top of the Brienzer Rothorn at 2244m above sea level.

Your journey starts at Brienz, during the 7,6km to the top you'll ride through forests and meadows offering magnificents views in a comfortable wagon. After reaching the station you can walk to the top of the Brienzer Rothorn and enjoy the stunning views of the Swiss Alps and the turquoise colored Lake Brienz.

You can find here also a restaurant with viewing platform or you can spend the night on the top of the mountain in Hotel Rothorn Kulm.
