What is the Titlis Rotair?

The Titlis Rotair is a state-of-the-art rotating cable car that takes passengers from the middle station to the summit station at 3,062 meters (10,032 feet) above sea level. During the 5-minute ride, the gondola makes a full 360° rotation, offering uninterrupted views of the glaciers, crevasses, and towering peaks of the central Swiss Alps.

Though the concept for a revolving gondola dates back to 1992, the technology was only realized and launched in 2014.
