The Crooked Forest in Poland is located in Gryfino, close to the border with Germany. The forest is a natural monument and consists of 50 unusual shaped pine trees.  There are several theories about how the forest was created. As you can see, around the crooked pine trees are normal shaped trees growing. The most obvious is that the crooked trees were formed in this way for the construction of boats, barrels, furniture or decoration.  These pine trees were probably planted in 1934 and cover an area of 0,3 ha. At one point, there were many more characteristically shaped pines. As part of the agreement between the Gryfino Commune, Polska Grupa Energetyczna and the State Forests, the Crooked forest will soon be revitalized. An attempt will also be made to increase the Crooked Forest through replacement plantings.
