A Rich History

Built between 1377 and 1418, the New Town Hall served as the administrative center of Prague’s New Town, established by Charles IV. It is most famously known for the First Defenestration of Prague (1419), when radical Hussites stormed the building and threw Catholic officials out of its windows, an event that sparked the Hussite Wars.
