Helsheaven: A Floating Chapel

Located at the highest point in Helshoven, this floating chapel is the new attraction in the Haspengouw region in Belgium. Artist Frits Jeuris created the chapel from cherry trees. These trees fell prey to the Little Cherry Virus that causes too small fruits. Through this artwork they are given a second life and symbolize the dynamic landscape of Haspengouw.

Helsheaven offers visitors a beautiful panorama over the fruit region and has become a popular stopover for hikers and cyclists. Other famous artworks in the area are the See-Through Church made by Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh and the Tree Tents by Dré Wapenaar.

Location Helsheaven: Gudderstraat 26-32, Sint-Truiden, Belgium.
