Château de Raray

Situated at 45 minutes from Paris, Château de Raray dates back to the 17 century. The two long balustrades are the castle's most famous architectural elements. Their sculptures are largely inspired by hunting, antiquity and are most likely created by Florentine artists. In 1945, Château de Raray served as the location of some scenes from the movie Beauty and the Beast by Jean Cocteau. Since 1924, the building is listed as a Historic Monument.

Today the castle is a prestigious hotel-restaurant and the grounds have been transformed into an 18-hole golf course. In the forest next to the golf course are luxurious tree houses for rent. The castle itself can also be booked for weddings, concerts, outdoor activities and other events.

Location: 4 rue Nicolas de Lancy 60810 Raray, France.
