National Art Museum of Catalonia

The National Art Museum of Catalonia(MNAC) is located in the Palau Nacional at the foot of Montjuïc. The museum was founded in 1990 by the merger of the Museu d'Art de Catalunya and the Museu d'Art Modern. MNAC exhibits mainly Catalan art from the Romanesque period to the mid-twentieth century. The collection contains sculptures, paintings, objets d'art, drawings, engravings, posters, photography, coins, medals and paper money.

La Pedrera

La Pedrera, also known as Casa Milà, is one of the buildings designed by Antoni Gaudí. It was his last work before he devoted himself completely to the construction of the Sagrada Familia. The building was completed in 1912 and was constructed to house apartments.

La Pedrera is not so colourful on the outside like Casa Batlló, but is admired for its magnificent roof architecture. Today some flats are privately owned but most of the building is open for public.

Barcelona Zoo

Barcelona Zoo is located in the Parc de la Ciutadella, not far from the beach. With over 4.000 animals from 400 different species, it is one of the best in Spain. The zoo includes lions, tigers, elephants, rhinos, hippos, lots of reptiles and a very popular dolphin show.
Barcelona Zoo also participates in various international and European breeding programs for threatened species.

Sagrada Familia in Barcelona

The Sagrada Familia is the most visited and most popular landmark in Barcelona. It was designed by Antoni Gaudí who worked on this project for more than 40 years. Construction started in 1882 and is scheduled to be complete around 2030.

Although not finished, the Sagrada Familia is open for visitors. During your visit you can climb the towers to find a magnificent view of the city. Inside the church is also a museum about the history of the Sagrada Familia and the work of Antoni Gaudí.

Casa Batlló

Casa Batlló is one of Gaudí's masterpieces in Barcelona. It was built in 1877 and was completely refurbished between 1904 and 1906. The owner, Josep Battló wanted to demolish the building but was convinced by Antoni Gaudí to remodel it. The result is a colourful and unusual looking house that is admired by many tourists every day.

Sacred Heart Church

Located on Tibidabo, the Sacred Heart Church is popular for its beautiful views of Barcelona. The church was completed in 1961 by architect Enric Sagnier in Gothic style. On top of the church is the statue of Jesus Christ, it was created by Josep Miret Llopart and can be reached by an interior stairway.

Tibidabo

Tibidabo is the name of the mountain overlooking the city of Barcelona. With a height of 512m, the mountain is the highest in the Serra de Collserola. On the top of Tibidabo is an amusement park and the Sacred Heart Church, from here you can enjoy the most beautiful views of Barcelona.
